So our little household has been pretty much in survival mode lately. I’m the only one who hasn’t had a fever, but I’ve been dealing with sinus crap for almost two weeks. Apparently blogging isn’t part of surviving? But today I’ve got a fun person for you to meet! Megan is our Takeover this month and she’s here answering some questions that fit our blog.

Things I’ve laughed at lately:

I’ve spent my days and nights laughing at Grumpy Cat on Pinterest. I know, pretty low brow, but seriously look at it and tell me it’s not funny.

The Mindy Project. I know in my heart me and Mindy Kaling would be besties in real life.

I’ve also been dying over Big Bang Theory. What on earth are they going to do with Amy Farrah Fowler?

My Hubbs who supplies an endless supply of comedy on a daily basis, whether I like it or not.

A favorite adventure I’ve had, or dream of having:

I really want to go to Kings Cross Station in London and pretend I’m on my way to Hogwarts. With an owl in a cage and a trunk full of my valuables. I’m 34, so judge away.

What I would do if I knew I couldn’t fail:

I would write the book that’s been in my head for a year and submit it to publishers. I’m just too darned scared to do it. I know, I know, just do it already. How am I going to know if I don’t try???

I didn’t get to do the Copy Cat Challenge this week, but it just so happens that the interview we did with Natalia of Ma Nouvelle Mode this summer is up now, and so I’m going to share that instead!

Natalia and I have a little joke now that she’s much less demure in person than I had originally gathered from her blog. Her great beauty tips and beautiful pictures sort of threw me off of the reality of her spunky personality – though to be fair, one could probably read between the lines

life has a way of beating us down pretty easily.

it’s easy to get overwhelmed and lose hope.

one of our goals with sharing different people’s dreams with you through the Your Adventure series on our blog, as well as with the Blank Canvas tour that we started this summer and all the interviews with that, is to hopefully remind you (and us) that there IS hope. sure, it takes a LOT of work and it takes choosing to not give up, but we firmly believe that

[he] is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us… Ephesians 3:20

someone who is working toward a big dream is Tranae of Team Playground!

A dream I’m currently working towards is opening a storefront for my event design company, Sassy Stems of Atlanta. It is very early in the planning stage but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  For the last two years, I have been operating out of my home and using an online storefront. This dream is important to me because having a storefront will give me the opportunity to better market my brand.

Mr. D always reminds me of this, but it’s always weird to me because of how much beauty there is everywhere and how much luxury is in many areas – particularly the tourist spots. I’m thinking about the whole third-world thing because of Esther’s dream. Esther of Lovingly Thrown is on the Sidewalk Team of the IRLO Mashup, and she just so happens to be from Costa Rica like Mr. D is. In fact, we were both there at the same time this winter and had high hopes of meeting up there, but the timing/location never quite worked out I think someday in the future we’ll get to remedy that!

My dream is to travel to a third-world country one day to serve the poor. This has been on my heart since I was a very little girl and have had the opportunity to do so locally and nationally. In 2006, I traveled to New Orleans to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and this trip turned out to be life changing and part of my conversion. The Lord called me to marriage and motherhood before I had the opportunity to pursue any more mission trips but I hope and trust that one day He will make it possible for me and my husband, who happens to share this dream, to immerse ourselves in a culture and country where we will do His work.
