Happy Monthaversary, Mr. D!!!

today we have been married for 27 months, together for 35 months and two days, and known each other for about 6 years and 7 months. how the time does fly – well, it’s flown since we’ve been married – before that was a little slow :-) we’re thinking about actually dressing up a bit a go out tonight… since I don’t really have any new clothes I’m not sure how that will work, though. don’t get me wrong, we always do something special/fun on the 10th (before we got married it was the 8th) but we definitely don’t always “go out” and it might be about time. Rhonda recommended the Brown Bottle, so we may try that… we had a really superb weekend!!! It was kicked off by a fabulous evening at the Yoder’s. the guys grilled and Rhonda made some scrumptious potatoes which I polished right off :-) then Jeffrey and Jeff set up my brothers’ projector and stuff and Jeff introduced us to the hilarity of the first season of The Office, which we watched under the willow tree… we seriously considered setting up shop and selling concession out of Rhonda’s parent’s farmers market stand by the road, but in the end just made fun of the pimped out buggies that kept passing! So we got home rather late. Sonya, these pictures are for you!!!

We were VERY proud of ourselves on Saturday, though, holy cow!!! Our house desperately needed to be cleaned and our finance systems needed to be revamped, so since we had discs 4 & 5 of season 4 of 24 we made a little deal with ourselves: David would clean while I did finances and every time we finished a goal we watched an episode of 24!!! That was seriously the best Saturday that we have had in a long time because instead of working all day and being annoyed, OR playing all day and feeling gross when we went to bed, we made a wonderful combination of both! The car didn’t quite make it onto our goal list as it got dark…

Yesterday we went to Los Portales with Jeffrey & Rachelle so we could kill three birds with one stone – hanging out with them, satisfying our very growly stomachs, and watching the finals! Then we went to Pirates and met Jeff & Rhonda and Kanina, and became very annoyed to find that a whole row of people hadn’t managed to save enough seats for everyone, but then found out that there had only been two people doing the saving in the beginning, so were a little chagrined at getting so annoyed… plus David and I got to sit in optimal seats, while poor Jeff’s and Kanina were in the second section, which I don’t think they should even put in theaters!!!!!! Then we parted ways as Rhonda wanted to watch The Ringer which we had already seen. And we ended up going to the park and laid around talking with Jeffrey & Rachelle. We suddenly remembered that we were supposed to water Karla’s flowers, though, so we made it home just before the last light had disappeared and did just that!

oh, I almost forgot – one bad aspect of the weekend was that mom was on a little road trip and David and Nathaniel made some exploding bread in her bread machine… they didn’t know it was exploding, but, well, it was.

  1. I see you’re still trying to convince me to move to the dark side…try a little harder, YOU’RE FAILING! I have 2 job interviews this week…i’d ask for your prayer but I’m afraid that you’d pray against my odds of getting the job. Did you ask Kanina about the “make mischief” shirt she was wearing at the cookout? we have the same one along with normie, we bought them during a bonding experience at Target. I saw Pirates yesterday…loved it…laughed until my sides hurt.
