ah, the gentle lull of raindrops hitting your windshield as you drive home…

except for it actually being clouds of bugs – don’t know how it’s possible to have 15 solid miles of bug clouds, but I guess anything is possible. it was possible last year, too. I remember. as we drove home to that sound last night I reminded David of what the last thing that goes through a bug’s mind before he hits the windshield is: his butt. He had forgotten, and laughed a good while. Making people laugh makes you feel good about yourself. Joan, if you’re reading this I hope you’re smiling :-D

Family, Fire, and Fridays…

ok, so I just wish it was Friday.  but yeah, some of the family decided to blow some stuff up the other night, which involved fire. I went running around trying to find our car (which I finally found hidden in a ditch behind a semi) so that we could capture some of the action. David, of course, took the fire shots

also, if anyone is interested in sharing a computer security subscription with us, it’s only about $2.80 a month. We’ve used it for a whole year and really like it a lot! we get enough for three computers, but only currently have two…

busy!!!

I really want to post some of the latest pictures of my cute-as-a-button nephew, but that takes a lot more time than just typing a few words, and we are SO busy!!! That’s why I’ve been procrastinating about posting. Ok, so yesterday we did kind of goof off for a while… David got the bright idea to download a computer version of Boggle and it’s just kinda addicting… go ahead, mom, you know you wanna try it!!! :-)

We also had another family reunion this weekend, so that took up some valuable time. It was cool except for the part where I was REALLY tired and we sat around for two hours doing nothing except waiting for supper.

Nathaniel is HOME!!! Yay!!!!!!! He got more muscles while he was gone… or maybe it’s an illusion because he is tan now… either way, we missed him and are glad he’s back! (now David will have to stop stealing his pop, however :-D)

Mom’s brother/his wife/son/son’s girlfriend/and my long lost cousin Carabara are here visiting for the week… that means even more busyness!!!!!!!! It’s so fun to see my cuz again, though. She’s a dork.

Why else are we so busy? Well, this weekend we are planning to go to Atlanta to visit my aunt/uncle/cousin and be spoiled ROTTEN!!! for a couple of days and then go back to Tennessee for a week and become certified financial counselors :-) and then go back to Atlanta to pick up my bros and Rachelle and come back to Iowa… meanwhile I have a serious load of projects to finish up with work and other stuff!!! SO DON’T EXPECT TO HEAR MUCH THIS WEEK!!!

hot, etc.

I think it’s been hot everywhere, but it was actually hot enough to get us to turn our air conditioner on for a bit on Monday night! only because we were in productive mode and wanted to get some work done… had we not turned it on we probably would have just felt like sleeping. then it rained and cooled off quite nicely and when David turned the air off he turned it too far off, also known as turning on the heat, which I discovered in the middle of the night when I felt hot air blowing… so we used more than our fair share of electricity that day.

In other news, Jeffrey turned 22 yesterday. Only three more years until his car insurance goes down – haha. Nathaniel is currently in Poplar Hill, something, Canada :-) and while it’s not very cool that the youth group is having a great time bonding and we’re not there, we’re still pretty glad at this point that we didn’t go…

I’ve been fairly lazy as of late, which I don’t like, but the heat kinda gets to you! Yesterday my mom decided that she was going to kick her lazy in the butt, so after looking with no luck for a long while for an old exercise tape she had, she put on some upbeat worship music and danced around in her room for twenty minutes, followed by a couple of dashes up and down the stairs. Personally, I’d kinda like to know how that dancing was, but she had her door closed… one of the lines I heard coming out was “I’m wanna dance like no one’s around”, so I’m guessing she was getting her boogie on at that point. Funny lady. I am hoping to find some sort of exercise video today that we can like and maybe we can kick our lazy together from now on.

David thinks that foxes look like they’re wearing pajamas.

well, I think that lots of cars look like different types of cat heads, so… oh, and there’s a mailbox between work and home that looks like a donkey. have I told you that already?

we did go to The Brown Bottle on our monthaversary and we really, really enjoyed it!!! we made fun of the really bad attempt at the faux paint job on the walls where we were sitting, and also the woodwork was an atrocious tan color that did NOT match well anything that was there. it really is a nice restaurant, though, and these things are not at first noticeable, only, I think when one is VERY hungry and the food can not come fast enough!!! it was very yummy when it did come… mmmmm.

I’m tired. every time I poked David last night he started snoring again in two seconds. I finally said, please stop snoring. and he said, what? why didn’t you tell me sooner? and turned on his side. just when I finally kind of got to sleep it was time to wake up again. (well, I had been asleep earlier, too, just not the last hour and a half before it was time to get up)
