Might I take a moment to say how nice it will be to NOT be living in this wretched ,wretched cold weather. I was talking to a truck driver and he was saying that next week the highs are going to be in the teens!!! It’s just barely December!!!  I guess God wants us to really appreciate where we’re going .  Btw this is David , and i was just testing the message sender so I had to write something  anyways … I don’t think Christina goes and randomly talks to truck drivers =). Enjoy the Chill.

And please note that this is not me “sleep posting”… ugh. Sometimes my brain just has too much to do. I laid awake for an hour before getting on the computer. Fortunately this doesn’t happen to me very often! Mostly just when I’m kinda stressed by a long to do list. Well, I always have a long list, but I guess it’s more about imminent deadlines… I was able to think of a few things to try on some of our current design projects, and I also started whittling down the list of stuff we’re supposed to do before we leave – as in I started thinking of what we could stand to do from Costa Rica instead. So suffice it to say that you will not be getting any cards from us before we go… I mean, we already have enough stuff on our “to do while in Costa Rica” list to last us a good year, but oh well. I’m annoyed that we never got Maeve’s six month pictures sent out, but at least we never got any printed either! So nine month it will be.

David cleaned up our room and the kitchen in the other day. It was truly an inspiring job. He made bread last night, too, so it still smells nice in here. I feel like such a bad wife. But I was taking care of Maeve during that time and I DO cook. Oh yeah, and buy him zunes, which is apparently somehow equated with Proverbs 31? :-)

coming through the ceiling

When we first moved into our apartment there was a little old deaf lady living below us. Ok, essentially deaf. She was the reason David once had to call 911. Anyway, she moved into a retirement home and eventually retired her life. Then we had a low income, young, single mother living below us until she got kicked out for not paying her rent, among other things. Then, until recently, we had two old, presumably deaf men living below us. One guy talked so loudly all the time and listened to the tv at such high volumes that after we figured in his age for good measure it seemed like an obvious conclusion. David was friendly with them, but I couldn’t keep them apart, so it was David who asked, when we saw one of them in the grocery store the other day, if he was still living there. He said that, no, he had indeed moved. David jokingly asked if we had been too noisy for him, to which he replied “Well, that was part of it” whoops. He said he didn’t blame us at all as he knew we weren’t doing anything unusual, but that he thought it was because our landlords had replaced some of our carpet with tile and sometimes it sounded like we were coming through the ceiling. Hmmm. It wasn’t until later that I realized, oh yeah, and now we don’t wake up in the middle of the night to loud snores coming up through our floor! Oh the joys of apartment life. Truly, I rather enjoy it. Though I certainly prefer being up here as opposed to down there! Someday we will really need more room… ideally we would just buy the building, turn this top floor into one big apartment, and rent out the others. Then we wouldn’t have to go to all the trouble of moving our stuff :-) I do loathe moving.

I know it’s been quite a while since any pictures, and we plan to make up for that in Costa Rica, but for now, here are a few of us for fun. It was acting kinda wonky when I uploaded them, so hopefully it works for you.

BOOM!

That was the noise we heard as we saw tiny fragments of rubber fly in front of our headlights. We were planning to get new front tires on Monday… and then on Tuesday… and then yesterday… but David ended up working around 12 hour days all three days, so it didn’t happen. Thankfully our tire decided to give out on us in my parents’ driveway, rather than somewhere on the road. So David put the spare on, and here we are, safely home. Thanks, God!

my nose would really prefer not to be around my hands right now… I thought “rosemary lemon” sounded like a fairly safe lotion to sample, but I was so wrong. I only used the smallest bit, but it’s sticking to me like stink on a skunk – and that’s after washing my hands several times!!! Maybe I should have washed them in peanut butter.

Well, tomorrow is “Kimberley day”, which means that my aunt Kimberley has fun by spoiling us rotten. We, therefore, need to get rested up so we have plenty of energy to spend all her money :-)

Proverbs 31

Well on pains of making myself look like a selfish prick I write this post.  I have been snared by my wife’s awesomeness, taken for a ride and then given the “coup de grace”   today in the midst of some poopy diapers.  So here’s the story:

It began last week when the first of the Zunes arrived at the creamery. There had been a deal on E cost and I had gotten all riled up about it only to realize that I didn’t need one and that of –course it was a bit foolish to get one when you have a major expense coming up . So I let it go (Christina would disagree) and resigned myself to oooh and aahh at the Zunes arriving for the other partakers of the deal.  The first one arrived on Wednesday of last week I liked it and mentioned the fact that it had arrived to Christina and she asked me if I had liked it I got a little suspicious and started asking pointed questions and she spilled the beans about having bought me a present for my bday and for Christmas already. So I was curious … but I can wait so I let it go. For the time being.

Friday rolled around and as we were leaving the Adams house on our way to our weekend  Tina decided that I should receive my present so I went and  retrieved it from its hiding place and lo and behold !!! NO it wasn’t electronics, but exactly the opposite… Books!!!  They’re the spankin’ awesomest books ever. I got the complete set of “The Story of Civilization” by Will Durant.  Yes I was disappointed, and Christina caught on, and I felt horrible. I struggled that whole day and the next, I felt like I was a complete selfish jerk because I was so disappointed.  Well I overcame the feelings after a long talk with Christina on Saturday night. She must’ve enjoyed every bit of it.  Sunday passed and Monday came.  What a Monday I worked 12 hours and had a wretched time with some of my workers so I was tired and just wanted to relax.  So we made a deal she would take care of Maeve and make some Pizza and I would do the diapers. Seems fair … SO I went to the diaper bag … one wet … one crappy … one in a bag and very solid feeling … ha ha, there in the bag was my Zune.  Christina was kind of mad at me because my reaction was so boring but I was just so surprised and overwhelmed. So there’s my story  I have the awesomest wife ever!!!!!!!! Christina I LOVE YOU
