Behind the Scenes: Surprising My Parents in Mexico!

Several months ago, we decided to work our butts off and head for our home away from home(my parents in Mexico) a little earlier this year.

My brother and his girlfriend were planning to visit my parents for the week before Thanksgiving and we wanted to try to all be together for a couple of days since it’s been more than a year. So we got busy trying to prepare and keep everything a secret to surprise my parents, who thought we were coming about a month later.

It felt really nice being able to make a plan more in advance this time, and we definitely felt more prepared for this trip than any we’ve made in the past. But of course the last week or two still got pretty hairy and everyone was more than a little ready to just jump to the part where we were in a warmer location.

Here’s how it went down:

We got to have a nice Thanksgiving meal together and do a few other fun things this week, too, including going to San Balboa Park.

We’re looking forward to lots of new adventures this winter!
