Although it’s a bit of work, I always enjoy joining up with Natalia’s clothing challenges because it makes me re-think my wardrobe. I’m very intent on developing a minimalist wardrobe asap and her 7×7 Remix is the perfect way to evaluate which pieces are not versatile enough and need to go.

Growing up, I was always focused on getting the most individual pieces for my money – it felt like a conquest somehow. I certainly still love a good bargain – I mean, I basically don’t buy something if it’s not on sale, but something about turning 30 made me start to desire quality over quantity. I’m not necessarily talking about spending more, though sometimes if it’s the right item I think that’s fine, I’m really just talking about being very intentional about the pieces you buy. Often that means passing up a “good deal” because it will end up adding clutter and confusion to your closet. I’m hoping that I can pass this down to Maeve so that it’s ingrained in her.

These are the items I chose to remix this month:

I already knew that I had very little to work with for accessories, but I felt it a lot more with this challenge… I also feel like such a dork putting “outfits” together.

This was definitely my favorite – I felt the most “me” in it.

How’s your closet looking? Is it overflowing with items you rarely use?

You should join up with Ma Nouvelle Mode next month!
