When we first did VEDA in April and I scoured the internet a number of times trying to find a way to manage YouTube subscriptions. Unfortunately, there really wasn’t a way. I’m pretty sure I even tweeted at YouTube telling asking them to get their act together with something so obvious.

Thankfully, shortly before August VEDA I randomly noticed a NEW option in YouTube: Manage Subscriptions! Apparently it rolled out rather quietly from what I can tell because quite a few people I’ve mentioned it to didn’t know about it yet, which is why I’m doing this post.

It’s so very easy now, woot!

Sort your YouTube subscriptions into helpful groups. organize-youtube-subscriptions

When you want to add or remove subscriptions from a group, just select it in your subscriptions sidebar and then click on Manage Collection.

Notice that it’s automatically set to show the subscriptions in the group, so you need to click on Add Channels to find others you’ve subbed to that you want to add. Shout out to some of mah VEDA peeps! 😉

Unfortunately, there doesn’t yet seem to be a way to add a channel to a collection right away when you subscribe to it, but maybe that feature is coming. Let’s hope. Happy managing!
