As a self-employed family we are always looking for the best ways to maximize our budget. Because we also homeschool, that often means we want the gifts we give our kids to be educational as well as fun.
Recently I had the opportunity to ask child development expert, Dr. Sherman LeVos, a few questions about smart gifting. She earned her doctorate in developmental psychology (specializing in mathematical and cognitive development) at the University of Alberta, in Canada. Dr. Sherman LeVos was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, a researcher and instructor, and a math textbook author. She also has two boys of her own, so I know she has real life hands-on experience 🙂

We personally have been hooked on LeapFrog products ever since the Tag Reader came out, so we’re always excited for a new opportunity to work with the company. I especially enjoyed learning about how LeapFrog works with parents and children to develop their products, and I feel like their in-depth interaction really shows.
If you need a good idea for a gift that your kids will keep playing with all year, we HIGHly recommend the LeapsterGS. We had it on our 2 month road trip this summer and both of our kids still LOVE it. Opinions completely our own because you know that’s how we roll 🙂
