One of the great ways to inspire creativity is with new music. I’ve been making playlists of some of my favorite songs on YouTube for a while, but the Creative Collective linkup reminded me that I want to be more intentional this year, instead of random.

The prompt was just to make a new playlist, but I’m going to keep adding to it throughout the year. A couple of songs I had on there have already been removed because I think I had included them more for the video than the actual song, so it’s not that long yet.

I’m no music hipster. I like what I like, regardless if millions of other people like it, too, and I’m not going to force myself to like something because I “should”. So, who knows what will show up here… I don’t know about you, but I don’t need a certain type of music to create by.

Also, a couple of these videos reminded me how annoying it is when the singer doesn’t sing with the same emotion in the video that they have in the actual recording… it just doesn’t match up visually, and I don’t think it’s only bad editing.

(Sorry, this will probably jerk you around a bit, I don’t think I can really rearrange it for a very satisfactory listening experience.)
