Have you ever tried to download a new app on your phone, only to realize that you’re out of space?
We have. Way too many times. It’s annoying.
Personal cloud storage is the best solution to keep you from having to look through your apps to see what you can get rid of, or delete cute pictures and video clips of your kids to make space.
It also keeps you from having to worry about backing up all your files like you always mean to do but never get around to.
You’re probably familiar with online storage (also called cloud storage), but it tends to be limited and/or pretty expensive.
This simple solution not only frees up space, but also syncs your media across all your devices, performs automatic backups, and makes sharing easy.
As a location independent family, we are usually traveling about 6 months out of the year, and it gets to be a big pain trying to keep track of all the pictures and video we take, not to mention keeping it all organized in any sort of efficient manner.
The new My Cloud Mirror is for those of us who aren’t super tech-savvy but recognize the value of protecting our files, and love the ease of accessing our media from anywhere.
The thing with My Cloud Mirror is that there just isn’t much to it. That might sound bad, but what it really means is that it just works. 3 short steps and you’re set to go!
Step 1: plug in power cord
Step 2: plug into router
Step 3: go to the network setup page and follow the prompts
Storage, Streaming, & Simplicity
No more need to clutter up your phone or computer with thousands of pictures, videos, music, and other files that grow by the day. WD offers My Cloud Mirrors with 4-8TB of space so you can just keep your stuff in one centralized location.
You might think it would be a pain to have to go and download media from the drive to your computer whenever you need it, but this is where My Cloud hits its stride – it’s actually a media server too!
Listen to your music, watch your videos, or look at your pictures seamlessly via iTunes, Xbox, or whatever you normally use, straight from your My Cloud.
This is centralized whole-home storage we’re talking about here – everyone in your family can access all your media from any of their devices, both at home and on the go.
Through the app you can get to all the files on your drive (yes, including streaming) on any of your devices, and it also provides a handy dandy picture backup service for your phone or tablet.
Worried one of your computer is acting a little sketchy? The My Cloud Mirror automatically backs up both PCs and Macs.
Wanna share your pics with granny? (David wrote a lot of this, we’ll let him keep some of his wording 😉 )
Just send her, or whoever you want to share with, a link, and let her download or view them from your My Cloud.
Don’t forget peace of mind.
One summer we took a roadtrip around the U.S., videoing a bunch of people who were doing cool things following their dreams and whatnot. The plan was to edit and publish all those interviews as inspiration for others.
With all the hours of footage from several angles, things were bound to get a little hairy, but it was going really well until the end. Sadly, one of the drives ended up somehow getting wiped and we lost everything that wasn’t already published.
Through a tedious process we were able to recover some of it, but there are a few interviews that were reduced to only a memory.
The My Cloud Mirror is set to backup all your files for you automatically, so our problem wouldn’t have happened if we’d had one at the time.
You might not be attempting a project that ambitious, but you know you’d cry if you lost all your digital memories. It’s definitely worth having the right equipment so that won’t happen.
There’s just so much awesomeness packed into one cool-looking little box!
The bottom line is that no matter whether you’re working on creative projects or just capturing your everyday memories, now you can KEEPITCOMING™ and not have to worry about space or losing them.
Try it out yourself to see how My Cloud simplifies your digital mess so you can experience and create more!
