Earning money online is getting easier every year, as more jobs become virtual and more opportunities continue to open up.
At the same time, with so many options it’s overwhelming to know where to start.
It can feel daunting when it seems like everything is already too over-saturated – is there really room for you, too?
The good news is, yes, there’s still room for you!
We didn’t create our site or YouTube channel expecting to make money, it was really just to learn and get practice creating more.
Ours is the same old story, no overnight success, just a slow build as we kept on doing things we enjoyed, even when we didn’t always feel like it.
As of 2016, making money online is now our main source of income.
Let’s be real – we don’t make a lot of money, as our monthly income reports will show- but thank God, it covers our basic expenses!
We’re just regular people like you, not one of those big online entrepreneurs making six figures a month… yet *grin*
While we’re really happy (and still rather amazed, honestly) to be covering our expenses this way, it does still take a decent amount of work at the moment, and it doesn’t really give us any wiggle room yet.
Our overall goal is to get things operating pretty steadily so we’re better able to focus our time on relationships, as well as other work and projects to help people without need of compensation.
This means that we’re experimenting with developing solid streams of passive income, which we personally define as: Income generated with minimal ongoing time investment. Income sources with a high rate of return on time investment and flexibility.
We want you to have this, too!
- work you enjoy
- steady income with minimal effort
- broader flexibility of schedule and location
- greater freedom with your time – so you can do cool stuff and spread the blessings!
So we’re trying new things each month, taking notes, and sharing it all with you!
See our most recent income report and the newest stuff we’re trying here.
We don’t want you to waste time with our mistakes, so psssssst, here’s the secret:
This is by far the biggest thing we did wrong – we tried to wait until we could figure out what we were doing so we could “get it right”…
All that did was drag out our timeline by several more years.
Because here’s the thing, no matter what you want to do, no matter how many ducks you have lined up in a row, you’re still going to have to practice!
Why in the world would you want to wait to start practicing?! Get that ish out of the way now!
We certainly wish we would have started practicing sooner. We’re still practicing, we’ve just moved on to practicing different things!
Feel like you have no clue where to start or what to do?
Great! That means you’re at the perfect place to start right now 🙂

Need help finding your niche? This applies to figuring out what you want to create content about, whether you’re writing, creating video, or anything else you can think of. Here are 7 Questions to Find Your Niche or Personal Brand, along with other guides for starting out.
How to start a site or blog?
If your goal is to make any sort of money long term, you don’t want to mess with WordPress.com or a Blogger site. You’re much better off paying a little for your domain and hosting so you don’t have to mess with moving things around later and lose out on any sort of traffic or authority you may have built up.
There are a number of free services out there, but it’s important to choose something that allows you to scale up. Weebly is one of those with great features.
We also actually set up our own system, Premium Webspots, to make it easier for some of our clients to make changes to their sites themselves. It’s a really fun and easy way to get your site up, check it out!
Our preferred host for starting out and lower traffic sites is West Host. We tried a few of the usual places back in the day, but this is who we landed on and have used for our lower traffic sites for years now because the level of service you get for a very low price really can’t be beat.
Want to get started with video creation?
YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook are all good places to be with video right now. When you build an audience, you’ll be able to find a way to monetize whatever you’re doing.
